*AERES : Created by the 2006 law for programming research and in operation since March 2007, the Evaluating Agency for Research and Higher Education (AERES) intends to contribute to improving the quality of the French research and higher education system, in accordance with European recommendations and decisions made by European Ministers in the context of the Bologna process.

The School is also closely linked to 4 International Associated Laboratories (LIA), in Russia, China and Japan, and this provides a basis for the attractiveness of the School and its research on an international scale :

CAT&P4BIO :Innovative Catalysts and Processes for Oxidation Reactions; Biomass Conversion’is the Franco-Japanese International Associated Laboratory (LIA) created in 2011 through the participation of its research professors in the UCCS.

One of the principal guidelines of this new structure is the use of new heteropoly compounds as catalysts to highlight building-block molecules from biomass.

LIA LEMAC becomes LIA LICS : LIA LEMAC (Joint European/International Laboratory in nonlinear Magneto-ACoustics of condensed matter), carried by Ecole Centrale of Lille and the AIMAN-FILMS research group of IEMN (Institute of Electronics Microelectronics and Nanotechnology, UMR CNRS 8520 arrived at the term of its 8 years limit of existence in December, 2012. The LEMAC is the result of the fruitful scientific cooperations between France, Russia and Ukraine developed since 1995 by the Professors P. Pernod and V. Preobrazhensky of the Ecole Centrale of Lille. Since its creation, the joint LIA LEMAC became a reference laboratory for its expertise in the study of the properties magneto-acoustics of specific magnetic materials, domain which opens numerous original applications in Nonlinear Acoustics, Ultrasonic Imaging and Therapy, Functional Electronics, Flexible Electronics and microsystems.

The activities of LIA LEMAC over the period 2005-2012 contributed to the brilliance of Ecole Centrale of Lille research at the international level, in particular through, the publication of 198 articles in the highest ranked international scientific journals, the participation to more than 228 international conferences as well as 11 prioritary patents in the field of the ultrasonic imaging and charaterization systems and microsystem devices.

On the basis of this scientific success at the international level, a new French-Russian-Ukrainian Associated International Laboratory entitled LIA LICS (International Laboratory on the Critical and Supercritical phenomena in functional electronics, acoustic and fluidics) was created in January, 2013 carried among others by Ecole Centrale of Lille and co-directed by Professor Philippe Pernod and Professor Vladimir Preobrazhensky.

LIA2MCIS (LIA Mechanics, Materials, Control and Science of Information): created in 2010 by the Ecoles Centrales Group in order to participate in developing research at the Ecole Centrale de Pékin (Beijing).
